England signs Adidas deal for Delhi

Sport Business 11 February 2010

Commonwealth Games England announced sportswear manufacturer Adidas as its official clothing partner for the 2010 Games in Delhi.

England will be sending almost 400 athletes to Delhi this October, its largest ever team to an overseas Games.

“The partnership with adidas is fantastic news. By providing our athletes with such a top quality clothing partner it really sets the stall for the standards we want to achieve in Delhi, and gives us the best possible chance of success,” said CGE chair Sir Andrew Foster.

CGE president Dame Kelly Holmes added: “The partnership with Adidas is fantastic news. I was honoured to represent England at the Commonwealth Games and as a competitor you want to feel professional and that includes looking good – it is a huge event and I look forward to watching our team win even more medals than before.”

CGE launched its search for investment last summer in a bid to reduce its dependence on Government and National Lottery funding.
