April update
April was a busy month!
On Camp with Kelly is now in its third year.
I held a 10 day residential camp at Loughborough University for 15 new girls.
It turned out to be a great camp and I am pleased to welcome the new girls to the initiative.

Step into Sport camp organised by the Youth Sport Trust was running at the same time as my camp.
I did go and joined in the opening ceremony.

Step into Sport focuses on young people aged 14 to 19, giving them opportunities to become involved in sports leadership and volunteering, and encouraging them to continue this into later life.

Believe to Achieve with Kelly is my brand new campaign supported by the Youth Sport Trust.
A host of sporting superstars joined me as I launched ‘Believe to Achieve with Kelly’ – a programme of camps and scholarships for the young sports stars of the future in a bid to turn a new generation of sporting talent into triumph.
Olympians Denise Lewis, Jonathan Edwards, Duncan Goodhew and Tanni Grey-Thompson were among other sporting greats including David Seamen, who attended a Gala Dinner on Thursday 29 March at the Savoy Hotel in London to celebrate the launch of the programme and raise in excess of £200,000 for the Trust. Funds raised will support young talent aged between 15 and 18, helping with costs like equipment, coaching, training and medical treatment. The campaign will also deliver Kelly’s Camps for young athletes and coaches, teaching participants about the world of elite performers and the life skills necessary to help them achieve their goals.

Team B&Q is another mentoring programme that I am involved in and on the 16th April I ran a Hopefuls Conference at Dorney Lake. This programme is to help give Olympic Hopefuls from different sports the education needed to make it to the top there were various talks including Goal Setting, Team You where you access those that help you on your pathway to success.
Thanks to B&Q, Caryl Becker – Rehab Manager, Caroline Douglas – Sports Psychologist, Paul Gooze – Sports Doctor who helped make the day a success
Here was some of the feedback
‘A fantastic conference – inspiring, informative and just what I needed.’
‘I’ve made changes to my training following suggestions from Kelly and I’m already seeing the benefits a greater structure to my day is bringing.’
‘It was good to have experts there who can make an impact on my performance.’
‘I changed my training plan straight away to include more stretching sessions and allowing myself proper time to refuel. I can feel the difference already.’
‘I have contacted people from ‘Team You’ since returning from the conference.’
‘The interaction with Kelly added real value to the day’

19th April
It was my Birthday!!! I went away to Florence and had an amazing time in a really beautiful country, weather was lovely, food great and in fact I wish I was back there it was great!

25th April
I open a sports hall at Farnborough College and guess what it was named the Dame Kelly Holmes Sports Centre – how cool!
I had a really good morning there as they ran an Olympic Day for local schools in the area. It was great to see the excitement and enthusiasm of the students and staff and the college. Steph Twell one of our up and coming young athletes is at the college and defiantly has many fans from there wishing her good luck on her journey to possible Olympic Success!
There are many people I meet each month to enhance my motivational speaking, my initiatives and my various other roles. I really enjoy the work I do and you never know one day I may bump into you too!
